The Foundation of Trust
Sidq (truthfulness) is one of the most important qualities in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was known as "Al-Sadiq Al-Amin" (The Truthful, The Trustworthy) even before his prophethood.
Why Truthfulness Matters
"Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. A person keeps speaking the truth until he is recorded with Allah as a truthful person." — Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
And the opposite is also true:
"Lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. A person keeps lying until he is recorded with Allah as a liar." — Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
4. Hadith
Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. A person keeps speaking the truth until he is recorded with Allah as a truthful person.

When is Lying Permitted?
Islam is practical. There are very limited exceptions:

These are narrow exceptions, not loopholes to exploit.
Practical Tips
- Think before speaking - Is what I'm about to say true?
- Avoid "white lies" - They become habits
- If you make a mistake, own it - Honesty earns respect
- Keep your promises - Don't commit to what you can't fulfill
- Be honest in business - Don't deceive customers
